Modern Method of Construction

Modular Concrete

Concrete modules are pre-fabricated units / rooms that are factory designed and delivered for on-site assembly. The technology consists of establishing a factory where major construction works are finished offsite. Modular Concrete is a technology that can be used for full or partial construction to complement other types of construction. Offsite construction involves the process of planning, designing, and fabricating building elements in factories then transporting and assembling them on project sites. In modular construction, almost the entire building is constructed off-site in separate box-like modules, completed with attached walls, floor, ceiling, wiring, plumbing and interior fixtures. Across the spectrum of off-site construction products, modular is the most complete in factory finish (up to 95% in some cases). Simultaneous onsite and in-factory work may result in 50% time savings vs conventional construction

Method Features
  • Projects can be completed faster since construction of modular units can occur at the plant simultaneously with on-site work
  • Cost savings may be achieved due to the repetitive nature of modular construction, which is tailored to a factory environment
  • Standardization helps reduce the design total costs and minimize the risk of cost increases due to site delays
  • Buildings constructed using modular methods can easily be expanded or even contracted by adding or removing modules
  • Buildings constructed using modular methods can also be relocated to another site if needed
  • Units are completed with a high degree of quality since the construction process occurs in a factory under closely controlled and monitored conditions
  • Construction offsite minimizes waste due to controlled environment which makes the work more accurate and reduces errors.
  • thermal insulation Efficiency due to production in the factory which lead to reducing energy consumption and operating costs.
